Those who educate children well are more to be honored than they who produce them; for these only gave them life, those the art of living well. - Aristotle

Children present with decay too often still. With the eruption of first teeth around the 6 month mark, babies must begin the process of learning to brush from this point. Effective habits can be developed throughout childhood to protect these teeth as they form and emerge. Baby toothpastes are available with lower Fluoride content as babies tend to swallow the toothpaste. With the advent of walking, toddlers often bump their teeth as they are developing, mostly without harm but occasionally resulting in damage that can affect their development. The eruption of babies first tooth is essentially the beginning of their dental life and so at Dental on the Shore we love to see children as soon as you are comfortable to bring them in. While we dont do much in babies first year or two, the familiarisation of the practice works wonders later on in the years to come.

New Zealand is special for its School Dental Nurses programme that so many of us grew up with. Babies are automatically enrolled through the plunket system. We are proud to offer Private Care to children of all ages. Many parents use our services for the assessment of their childs health, and utilise the Public system for any treatment they require on their baby teeth. Our Dental Surgeons are able to monitor your childs development for critical issues such as missing teeth and abnormal tooth eruption in addition to the normal decay assessments. Dr Craig Campbell has considerable expertise in the treatment of children with Special Needs such as Autism.

Bring your kids to see us !!! Comprehensive Oral Health assessments cost only $75.
